Epoxy Resin is a class of prepolymers and polymers that consists of an epoxide group. This material is also known as polyepoxides. The key properties of this substance are - high mechanical and fatigue strength, low shrinkage during curation, excellent adhesive property, effective electrical insulation, low cost, chemical and solvent resistance, moisture resistant, long shelf life, and low toxicity. An amine-based curing agent is added with epoxy resin for curation. This material can be toughened if any thermoplastic polymer is added.
